Planning application appeal - 1st March 2022

Manhood Peninsula Action Group

Urgent, Urgent, Urgent! Please can you help?Hello, Many will be aware that the 1st March is a significant day for the Manhood and all that live here. It is the start of the Church Road, East Wittering Planning Appeal, made by the developers Welbeck against Chichester District Council who refused their application to build 70 houses off Church Road. If the developers win, this will open up the site for a further 226 houses. If this appeal succeeds then more will follow such as the Clappers Lane, Earnley application for 100 houses. There is one simple way to help and make your view known - that is by attending the Appeal, which starts on 1st March at West Wittering Memorial Hall at 10.00. We ask that as many people as possible, and we really need 150 people, to attend the meeting and show to the Planning Inspector how concerned we are. Numbers really matter. However, we are advised that a protest outside will not help and could be counter-productive. What matters are the numbers actually attending the appeal.  We know this is a big ask, but if you can spare half a day or a whole day over as many of the days that the appeal is being held (1 – 8 March), it really will make a difference. More details of this appeal can be found on the Chichester District planning portal under reference 20/02491/out or click here: https://publicaccess.chichester.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=QHKX6UERGX600The appeal itself has reference number app/l3815/w/21/3286315. Please let us know if you can attend and when.
