- i. BI/14/02356/PLD Mrs C. Sercombe, Martins Lea, Martins Lane, Birdham.
Construction of a driveway to Lock Lane, in connection with hard surfacing.
The map was studied and it was noted that the current entrance from martins Lane was considered dangerous. But hedges could be cut back to improve site lines and a mirror added. It was noted that the site was in the AONB outside the SPA and although planning regulations had changed with the introduction of the NPPF, the committee noted that little had changed since the decision of the two planning inspectors who had refused a very similar application at appeal. A unanimous decision to OBJECT to the application was agreed. The comment of the Inspector was that although this was a dangerous access, it was no more so than many other rural drives.
